HOW DOES GOD TALK TO ME AND HOW CAN I HEAR GOD'S VOICE?

There are various ways that God will speak to you. God will speak through the scriptures His written word, the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Through an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-2) and the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). God will speak through God appointed teachers, Pastors and Spirit filled Christian friends whose source is the Bible (Romans 12:6-8, Ephesians 4:15). God will speak to you as you pray (Romans 8:26-27), through the great outdoors of creation (Psalm 19:1-2), even life’s difficulties (Psalm 119:67-68), dreams and visions (Acts 2:17) and during times of praise and worship (Matthew 18:20, Psalm 100).

WHY SHOULD I PRAY?

  • God will answer and be glorified in your life (John 14:13).

  • To know God more (Psalm 27:4).

  • To give God permission to be God in all areas of your life (Matthew 18:4).

  • As a Christian, prayer is a normal part of your life (Philippians 4:6) and it is something we are called to do (Matthew 6:5-13).

  • As you pray and walk with God the blood of Jesus cleanses you from all sin (1 John 1:9).

  • Prayer leads you to walk in wisdom (James 1:5), relieves anxiety (I peter 5:6-7) gives discernment, guidance (Philippians 1:9-10) and peace (Philippians 4:7).

  • To keep alert so that temptation will not overpower you (Matthew 26:41).

  • For God to meet your every need (Mark 11:24).

  • To bind the work of the enemy (Matthew 18:18) and release God’s kingdom of righteousness, joy and peace in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17) into your situations, family, community and nation.

  • Prayer releases God's supernatural power, authority and anointing to come forth from your lips so God can perform miracles, signs and wonders on your behalf (Jeremiah 1:12).

PRAYER CHANGES SITUATIONS
God tells us over and over again to bring every concern we have to Him in prayer, knowing not only that He hears us, but also that He answers us according to His will. The Bible says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to his will… we know that we have what we asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15).

PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING
God knows the end from the beginning and he sees the whole picture. Therefore, “Pray continually for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18). God alone knows what’s best for you. Always pray for God’s will to be done, both in your life and in the lives of others. Kingdom praying is the way Jesus prayed and the way he taught his Disciples to pray. Let this become your Kingdom prayer - “Your will (God's will) be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS WHAT MATTERS
God loves you and he has a wonderful plan and purpose already prepared for you even before the foundation of the world. God’s purpose for you is to have eternal life through his Son Jesus Christ and live an exciting life free from the past; from sin, sickness, pain, depression, unworthiness, unforgiveness and everything that would hold you down. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth (Psalm 145:18). As you call upon the name of the Lord, he will save you, forgive all your sins, heal you and restore areas of your life that have been lost. Through your acceptance and receiving all the benefits of what Jesus Christ did in his own physical body on the cross of calvary for You (crucifiction, death, burial and resurrection), you can and will experience the 'New Birth' and live an overcomers life here on earth. The most important thing in life, is your relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Please click on this link as Pastor Caitlin explains about the ‘Way of Salvation’ (LINK...)
